Launched in 2010, Instagram quickly gained popularity and reach, with around 2 billion monthly active users. It is an image-based social media platform owned by Meta that allows its users to upload posts that can be edited with filters, hashtags, and locations. These posts can be shared publicly and with selective followers.

Launched in 2009, WhatsApp is an instant messaging and voice-over-IP service based social media platform, with more than 2 billion monthly active users. It allows its users to send text, voice, and video messages and calls, share images, documents, locations, and other content.

Launched in 2016, TikTok is a leading platform for short mobile videos. It aims an inspire creativity, entertainment, and joy. Despite being banned in India and attempts to ban it in the USA, it has more than 1.5 billion monthly active users.
SNAPCHAT

Launched in 2011, Snapchat is an instant messaging app that allows its users to send messages and photos, known as “snaps”, that are available only for a short time. Earlier, its focus was only person-to-person sharing, but now it has evolved to a new feature where users can share “stories” that stay for 24 hours, and it also allows brands to run ads in short-form content. It is the only social media platform that offers a sense of privacy and maintains its commitment to real-time, ephemeral content. While it is not as popular as Instagram or TikTok, it is still quietly humming along with more than 500 million monthly active users.

LinkedIn is a business and employment-oriented social networking service platform, launched in 2003. It is an aspirational hub for professional networking and career development. It is a smart platform to market your brand and to apply for job opportunities, as it allows job seekers to post their CVs and employers to post their job listings.
